Episode 3: Seth's Journal #1
April 29th,
Exactly one month ago, the Veterisian extremist groups threatened to attack the Royal Family. At the time, the threats held no weight; nevertheless, I devised a plan with Zénon: to allow myself and Luis to act as public figures to calm the masses. He was skeptical at first because Luis holds no status or wealth— to anyone, he’s a nobody.
(I say this in the nicest way possible.)
But then, as soon as Aurie was targeted, things shifted in my favor. You see, the rioters believe killing him will put an end to the Altivoqa “dynasty”, or, at the very least make Zénon comply with their demands. Either way, they want to put an end to the “oppression”, as they call it. If we somehow show them Aurie isn’t a terrible person, they might reconsider their objective. Most people seem to like the kid, so perhaps his befriending of a commoner like Luis will send a positive message.
...Plus, Luis could use the exposure. His family won’t stop sending me letters asking about him. Apparently, he hasn’t written back in months.
He’s indeed been sulking in his house far more than usual. I worry he’s too anxious to do anything. I hope this job gives him the courage he needs.

May 5th,
Has it been a week already? We’ve been coming to the Palace every day to acquaint ourselves with our positions, though mostly we just follow Aurie around while he talks about… I don’t know, princely stuff. Luis is taking it well; he actually tries to follow the conversations.
In more interesting news, though, Zénon finally talked to me about Einheitsbringer. The man is trying to set up a match for Aurie with his daughter. I’m not sure I agree with the idea. For now, at least. He may be a Veterisian Lord, but he’s far from being a representative of the region. Not only that, his daughter has a bad reputation, if the gossipers are to be believed. Under different circumstances, I would have agreed with the proposal; but right now we need to focus on lowering the tensions surrounding Aurie.
And speaking of, he’s been preparing himself mentally for his first public outing since his quarantine. He’ll take the time to socialize with people of interest. I pray it’ll be an uneventful night.
